About Me

Hi, my name is Hayden and I’m so glad you’re here.

In the haze of postpartum life, I studied for my final counseling licensing exam amidst milk-stained cloths, pumping parts, and a general messy chaos that was my home and my head. I went on to achieve licensure and return to work, leaving my baby and my heart at home. Brazenly armed with all my coping skills having worked in mental health for over a decade, I thought I was immune to the emotional challenges of the perinatal time… how wrong I was. I remember thinking- why does no one talk about this?

I made a decision to start the conversation. To shift my passion and my purpose. To find my own balance with parenting and my professional career, and help others in a similar place.

I received my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southern New Hampshire University in 2019. I began my career in mental health as an advocate for survivors of sexual assault and for many years worked in mental health crisis intervention. My practice brings over 10 years of experience providing Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to adults, adolescents, and families in multiple treatment settings. I received my Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International (PSI) in 2024. My practice has an emphasis on mindfulness, movement, and body-mind connection strategies.

I have attended the following professional trainings:

  • Adult and Adolescent DBT Intensives

  • Postpartum Support International Trainings in Perinatal Mental Health

  • Postpartum Doula 27 hour + lactation support training with Dona International

  • Perinatal DBT Intensive with Strong Roots at University of Michigan

  • DBT Prolonged Exposure training with Melanie Harned

  • And more to come!

I currently reside in Montpelier with my partner, toddler, and dachshunds. I am an enthusiast of tattoos, classical music, and sunny weather. My favorite thing about being a therapist is helping people discover their inner worth and wisdom.
